Work Standardisation (Time and Motion Study by any other name)
This is a half day course designed to provide an insight into the basics of work standardisation.
Standardisation is a set of rules, not guidelines, the purpose of which are to maintain the most efficient method of production with a minimum of labour and WIP. It is probably more commonly known to the older amongst us as Time and Motion Study.
Work Standardisation is the overall study of what is happening. Standard Operating Procedures are then put in place once the WS exercise has been completed to ensure that what we want to happen does happen.
We believe strongly in the 'Work Smarter, not Harder' ethos.

Careful analysis across a number of industrial sectors has created the 95% to 5% box, showing the ratio between Non Value Added and Value Added actions that are carried out in a typical factory.
This is the reason that we require Work Standardisation, to reduce the 95% part of the above and once eliminated ensure that everyone operates to a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Even though you may think that you run a tight ship, you will be surprised at just how much waste there is in your operations.
